Angy Abbruzzese

Visual Artist from Caracas, Venezuela. Graduate in Science in Communication and coordinator of cultural activities in Lugar Común Bookstore from 2013 to 2017. She is currently working on her personal project Recorta y Mueve, which means cut and move. Through a variety of hand-drawn and digital techniques and inspired by her readings, she renders banknotes into collage and GIF animations. This work is a proposal to question our preconceived notions and open ourselves to the idea that everything can be used as a material of play and strategy, even if it is paper money, something so deeply rooted to its conventional use. Some of this creations and ideas are developed on her monthly collaborations for ViceVersa Magazine. Angy has participated in two collective exhibitions: Ciudad Volátil-Ciudad Política (Caracas, Venezuela), and the inauguration of Restaurante-Galería Otates (Guadalajara, México). A selection of her artwork is for sale in arteotates.com.
