Japanese artist Hirotoshi Ito has created surrealistic sculptures of stone rocks concealing hidden objects behind embedded zippers. Ito collects rocks from riverbeds near his home and works with each individual shape to form a pouch and subsequent scene or object inside. The objects inside include marbles, coins or something sinister. The remarkable works titled Mysterious Stone! were revealed at Ito’s solo show last month in Tokyo. Displayed at the Little High Gallery, his art was hugely popular amongst exhibitors.
