New York's subway in the 80's

New York’s is one of the most recognizable metro system in the world. During the 80’s, swiss photographer Willy Spiller reported its ambiance and passengers for his series Hell on Wheels. The subways are simply covered in graffiti and one can easily notice it was a very productive decade in that sense. All photographs have a crude aspect to them, taken on spot, revealing the crude nature of the city at the time.
