I’m constantly looking for connections and it is photography that helps me find what I seek in many different ways, shapes and forms. My concepts usually originate from spontaneous intuition. They’re inspired by places and ought to be considered a shot at translating moments through my perception and the means and tools at my disposal. In that, I greatly prefer analogue photography – for various romantic and practical reasons. I mostly compose things just the way I encounter them, rarely setting up scenes myself. If there’s people in one of my pictures, what you get to see is more often than not a very specific moment with the people indeed being aware of the camera, but not of the exact second of me pushing the trigger on my camera. Alongside of this, I prefer an aesthetic approach that doesn’t cater to – let’s call it – standardised beauty.
